State of Indiana
SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 4
1

Heard and Passed by the Senate of the Second Regular Session
of the 113th Indiana General Assembly on February on February 26, 2004

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION condemning the burning of the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute.

Whereas, the Indiana General Assembly condemns in the strongest possible terms the recent arson attack on the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute on November 18, 2003, and declares that such displays of hatred against vulnerable persons of any religion or race have no place in our towns, cities, state, or nation, and that neither do the perpetrator(s) reflect in any way the good citizens of the State of Indiana; and

Whereas, the lessons of the Holocaust provide an important opportunity to reflect on the moral responsibilities of individuals, societies, and governments, and teach that we should strive to overcome prejudice and inhumanity through tolerance and understanding; therefore

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
the House of Representatives concurring:

SECTION 1.  That the Indiana General Assembly condemns the burning of the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute.

SECTION 2.  That the Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit copies of this resolution to Eva and Michael Kor.
