"Justice, Justice Shall Ye Pursue" Deut. 16:20
Jewish tradition teaches
us that participation in public affairs helps give stability to society. The efforts of the JCRC reflect the profound
Jewish commitment to tikkun olam, the repair of the world. Tikkun olam expresses the conviction
of the organized Jewish community that it must be active in the effort to build a just society.
JCRC
Guiding Principles for Legislative Advocacy
The guiding principles of the JCRC are developed each year in consultation
with the Government Affairs committee and the Board of Directors. The principles serve as a guide for the education and advocacy
efforts of the JCRC at the Indiana General Assembly.
The guiding principles provide a framework to determine the
level of involvement for JCRC with respect to particular issues. The JCRC will assume a leadership role on issues which are
of primary importance to the agency. The JCRC has many coalition partners and will assume supportive roles on issues which
merit our attention. The JCRC will track and monitor other issues of interest as they develop.
