Government Affairs JCRC Guiding Principles for Legislative Advocacy The guiding principles of the JCRC are developed each year in consultation with the Government Affairs committee and the Board of Directors. The principles serve as a guide for the education and advocacy efforts of the JCRC at the Indiana General Assembly. The guiding principles provide a framework to determine the level of involvement for JCRC with respect to particular issues. The JCRC has many coalition partners and will assume supportive roles on issues which merit our attention. The JCRC will track and monitor other issues of interest as they develop. Key issues include:
When the JCRC receives information about issues on which we feel the community has a particularly strong interest, we strive to make this information available to our community, so that you can take an active role in supporting or opposing a particular issue. Our Action Alerts provide the community with information about the issues, talking points, and instructions for contacting legislators. You can also find information here about Federal Action Alerts, provided by UJC and the JCPA.
JCRC Government Affairs Committee The Government Affairs committee works with the Government Affairs staff to develop JCRC positions on legislation before the Indiana General Assembly. The committee also serves as resources for testimony before committees of the Indiana General Assembly. Additionally, the committee is responsible for planning the JCRC’s Annual Political Action Workshop. The Government Affairs Committee meets bi-monthly while the Indiana General Assembly is in session and monthly otherwise. This committee is currently chaired by Henry Efroymson.
